Senior Consultants

Merrick Systems is one of the top 50 technology companies in Houston, TX. Merrick is focused on technology solutions for companies in the upstream oil and gas. We are seeking Senior Consultants in Dallas/Fort Worth, Denver, Midland or the Houston area.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following and other duties may be assigned.

  • Perform data population, implementation, and conversion for clients.
  • Perform project management duties, including: scheduling of implementation projects, coordinating resources, and managing client expectations.
  • Communicate with Management, Development Team, and End Users/Customers to clarify requirements, troubleshoot issues, and report on project status.
  • Train clients in use of software.
  • Assist in documentation and testing.
  • Perform software installations at client sites as needed and act as technical back up for help desk.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering, and/or Computer Science with 3 years experience and/or Masters in above with one year experience.
  • Advanced in PC, Network, and software set-up.
  • Advanced skills in at least one standard query tool, such as: ISQL, Microsofts’s Query Analyzer, Oracle'’s SQL, Toad, or Access.
  • Proficient in database administration experience (MS SQL Server/Oracle/Sybase).
  • Experienced using MS Windows Operating Systems.
  • SQL programming, VB.net, C#, or Java experience helpful.
  • Must have a good understanding of problem analysis and problem solving.
  • Position requires excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Candidate should be willing to work extended hours when necessary to meet schedules and provide support for production implementations.
  • Ability to work well under pressure is required.
  • Candidate should be self-motivated, able to handle multiple projects simultaneously and complete assigned tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Must have a strong technical foundation and possess the ability to work independently as well as in a team environment to complete objectives.
  • The ability to follow-through with the developers or customers and explain system deficiencies, requirement, or features.
  • Upstream oil and gas knowledge, particularly relating to field data captures, how to do allocations
  • (i.e. the concepts), regulatory agency requirements for production and well test filings.

Administrative Assistant / Receptionist

Merrick Systems is one of the top 50 technology companies in Houston, TX. Merrick is focused on technology solutions for companies in the upstream oil & gas. We are seeking an Administrative Assistant / Receptionist to answer phones, direct calls to appropriate parties and assist with general office support. This position reports to the Executive Assistant.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Daily Tasks:

  • Answer phones and direct calls to appropriate parties in a professional manner.
  • Check for and distribute faxes throughout the day.
  • Get the mail and distribute to the appropriate parties.
  • Keep magazines current and organized.
  • Send Executive Assistant an email outlining your daily accomplishments. Example format will be provided.
  • Greet visitors and clients and notify specific employees of visitors or take information that is being dropped off and hand off to appropriate party.

Weekly Tasks:

  • Create office supply order on Wednesdays or sooner if needed. The order should arrive on Thursdays so that it can be distributed.
  • Participate in weekly meeting with Executive Assistant to provide weekly update.
  • Place details of daily task accomplished in Timer. Brief training with be provided.

End of Shift Duties:

  • Lock front doors at 5pm.
  • Clean up kitchen, load and start dishwasher, wipe counters and push the chairs in around the tables and turn off and clean out coffee pot.
  • If you work on Friday, clean out the refrigerator.
  • Give Wall Street Journal to Samina or Executive Assistant. Throw away the remaining newspapers in the kitchen.
  • Check copier and all printers paper stock and fill up.
  • Check conferences for any dishes, clean the white boards and straight up the rooms.

Other Duties:

  • Create Costco order once a month and review with Executive Assistant prior to going to the store.
  • Create monthly birthday flyer to be distributed via email and posted in kitchen.
  • Work with Executive Assistant on arranging catering for client and internal events.
  • Keep phone list updated.
  • Enter contacts in Salesforce in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Work on research or special projects as assigned. Follow-up with the project leader or Executive Assistant with status updates on a regular basis.
  • During downtime, seek additional duties from Executive Assistant.
  • Other duties as assigned.

RFID Support:

  • Count inventory on a monthly, quarterly and as needed basis. Update and maintain the inventory tracking spreadsheet.
  • Create purchase requisitions to replenish inventory and purchase items from approved vendors.
  • Process domestic and international shipping and receiving for the department.
  • Create packing slips for Purchase Orders.
  • Process incoming and outgoing invoices.

Requirements:

  • 1 to 2 years of receptionist/administrative support experience.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Self motivated and results oriented individual.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction.
  • Knowledgeable for Microsoft Office.
