Kemal Farid

Co-Founder & President

As a co-founder of Merrick Systems, Mr. Farid serves as President and CEO. With more than 25 years experience in automation, process control and software development in the oil and gas industry, he directs Merrick's business strategy, technology development and global operations expansion.

Mr. Farid holds an Executive MBA from Rice University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Prior to his graduate studies, he obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin.

An active participant of business and industry associations, Mr. Farid is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers, Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers, Rice Alliance for Entrepreneurship and Innovation, MIT Enterprise Forum, Young Entrepreneurs Organization, The Technology Executive Committee of Houston and the Houston Technology Center Tech Champions. In addition to participating in these associations, Mr. Farid is a mentor and advisor to local entrepreneurs and students in the University of Houston's Entrepreneurship Program.

In support of the oil and gas industry and Merrick's thought leadership initiatives, Mr. Farid delivers keynote addresses and serves as speaker at various industry conferences and forums.
