Steve Ball is the RFID Business Manager at Merrick Systems, a leading global provider of industrial information technologies and professional services to the oil and gas industry.

Steve's vast experience in the areas of ADIC (Automated Identification Data Capture) and RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) spans over three decades. Launching his career with Intermec Corporation as the World Wide Technical Support Manager, Steve supervised a technical team responsible for supporting and responding to the Company's global client base, global distribution and all training activities for clients and distributors. Following his tenure with Intermec, Steve was a co-owner and General Manager of US Operations of a company focused on delivering AIDC/RFID custom solutions, overseeing all sales, Services and product deployment. Among his clients were Weyerhaeuser, Nintendo, Amazon.com, Boeing and FMC Mining Corporation.

Prior to joining Merrick, Steve ran a successful independent consulting business providing in-house consulting services to public and private corporations requiring additional expertise in automating data collection business processes. Projects encompassed defining and delivery of RTLS systems, sourcing of AIDC/RFID products via formal RFP processes and automation of warehouse management / supply chain processes for cold storage food environments.

Steve has been a part of the Merrick team since 2007. In his current role Steve oversees Merrick's RFID business and serves as team leader for the RFID business unit members in delivering AIDC and RFID technologies and solutions to numerous clients, including Fortune 500 companies.

Steve earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Management degree with specialties in Marketing and International business from Central Washington University. He holds an MBA in e-Business from UOP. Steve is a Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) by the Project Management Institute (PMI). He served six years in the Navy as an Aviation Fire Control Technician during the Vietnam conflict.
