Responsibilities:

  • Perform project management duties including scheduling of implementation projects, coordinate resources, manage client expectations
  • Communicate with Management, Development Team, and End Users/Customers to clarify requirements, troubleshoot issues, and report project status
  • Perform data population, implementation, and conversion for clients
  • Train clients in use of software
  • Assist in documentation and testing
  • Help assign teams to specific releases based on client needs and expectations
  • Determine how to handle mid-release change requests
  • Compile estimates
  • Upgrade software and hardware in operational locations
  • Assisting with sales — serving as a source for sales leads, may need to go on sales presentations
  • Ensures maximum issue resolution in minimum time
  • Planning, conducting, and documenting system tests for Merrick's suite of products
  • Monitor resolution of "critical" client issues
  • Act as the front line in customer support by taking calls and emails from clients regarding set-up questions and problems for Merrick's suite of products
  • Certifies that products are stable
  • Works to develop, apply, and maintain quality requirements that include the creation and execution of methods and procedures for testing and debugging programs
  • Work with consultants and testers to determine if reported problems are "bugs" requiring scheduling for program fixes or related to set-up issues requiring additional support
  • Release Posting
  • Communicate with Management, Development Team, and End Users/Customers to clarify requirements, troubleshoot issues
  • Prioritize within items already assigned to specific release for testing
  • Monitor testing progress on Test SCRs
  • Report to other teams on progress of testing for unit and regression
  • Perform software installations at client sites as needed and act as technical back up for help desk
  • Assists in keeping a list of known errors and possible "work arounds" (until they are fixed) to be published online for users
  • Provides estimates for testing

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Electrical, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering, and/or Computer Science with 3 years experience and/or Masters in above with one year experience
  • Advanced in PC, Network, and software set-up
  • Advanced skills in at least one standard query tool such as ISQL, Microsoft's Query Analyzer, Oracle'’s SQL, Toad, or Access
  • Proficient in database administration experience (MS SQL Server/Oracle/Sybase)
  • Experienced using MS Windows Operating Systems
  • SQL programming, VB.net, C#, or Java experience helpful
  • Must have a good understanding of problem analysis and problem solving
  • Position requires excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Candidate should be willing to work extended hours when necessary to meet schedules and provide support for production implementations
  • Ability to work well under pressure is required
  • Candidate should be self-motivated, able to handle multiple projects simultaneously and be able to complete assigned tasks with minimal supervision
  • Must have a strong technical foundation and possess the ability to work independently as well as in a team environment to complete objectives
  • The ability to follow-through with the developers or customers and explain system deficiencies, requirement, or features
  • Upstream oil and gas knowledge, particularly relating to field data captures, how to do allocations (i.e. the concepts), regulatory agency requirements for production and well test filings
