Technical Analysts/Consultants

Responsibilities:

• Entry level position which includes:
  • Level I and II Help Desk activities.
  • Participating in conducting, and documenting system tests Merrick's suite of products DynaCap, eVIN, ProCount, OVS, Rig Hand, Regulatory and RIO modules
  • Documenting system defects
  • Assisting on new software releases
  • Assist in keeping a list of known errors and possible "work arounds" (until they are fixed) to be published on line for users
  • Data cleansing activities via spreadsheet and SQL in support of client implementations.
• Conducting training sessions where appropriate or assist trainer
• Additional Training Responsibilities may include:
  • Developing an internal Merrick training program for third party software used in house such as SalesForce, Replicon etc.
  • Conduct orientation sessions and arrange on-the-job training for new hires
• Evaluate training effectiveness and be ready with alternative ideas if training approach is not providing desired results.

Qualifications:

• Must have a good understanding of problem analysis and problem solving.
• Candidate should be self motivated, able to handle multiple projects simultaneously and be able to complete assigned tasks with minimal supervision
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Oil & Gas experience a plus especially in upstream operations
• Proficient in PC, Network and software set up
• Proficient in at least one standard query tool such as ISQL, Microsoft's Query Analyzer, Oracle's SQL, Access
• Ability to write and modify bat files
• Experienced using MS Windows Operating Systems
• Database Administration experience a plus (MS SQL Server/Oracle/Sybase).
• SQL programming, VP, PowerBuilder or C++ experience helpful
