DynaCap (Corporate Asset Tracking System) Overview
DynaCap is an open-end user configurable system that allows you to track in real-time all your different assets, including drilling components, used around the globe at any given time. DynaCap can be used as a standalone asset management system or be configured to operate as a front end processing system for real time asset tracking and updating for other ERP systems such as SAP and Oracle. In addition, DynaCap can connect directly to maintenance systems such as Maximo. DynaCap uses a wide variety of wireless mobile handheld scanners for scanning RFID and when required bar-codes for asset tracking and inventory management. The mobile handheld scanners can operate via a wireless 802.11x connection and can also work in a disconnected mode to maintain full functionality if the wireless connection is lost. Using a wide variety of wireless mobile handheld readers for scanning RFID tags and bar-codes, DynaCap helps you to accurately track your assets and manage your inventory efficiently.
DynaCap Modules
Rig-Hand
Rig-Hand for DynaCap has been developed specifically to track drilling components as they are being tripped into and out of the hole. The software module is used in-conjunction with mobile handheld terminals that allow users to scan drilling components as they are moved to the drill table. In addition, drilling components that are tagged with RFID Diamond Tags can also be scanned using a hands-free fixed reader under the drill table, or in other instances via pipe handling tools.
Drill String Management
Prior to running drill components into the hole for drilling operations, a drill string configuration is defined at the DynaCap workstation using graphic representations of drill pipes, bits, subs etc…. As the RFID tags are scanned when the components are added to the drill string, the preloaded build to plan in the handheld will validate that the component being made up is the correct.
Tally Management
The Tally Manager allows users to scan drill components to perform tallys. Once tallys are completed, the data will be received by the DynaCap workstation for additional processing.
Riser Management
The Riser Management module allows sub-sea engineers to build a space-out plan which can be downloaded into a mobile handheld terminal. Drilling Assistant will scan each riser as it is placed for sub-sea deployment. As risers are pulled, each riser can be scanned and the space-out plan will be documented. In addition, the Riser Management module allows for management of riser inventory, and updates ERP systems as required. Depending on the type of RFID Diamond Tag used for tracking risers, a fixed RFID reader can be placed within the spider to accommodate hands free scanning of risers as they are run and pulled.
Tracking Surface Equipment
The DynaCap asset tracking system is user-configurable to accommodate any type of surface equipment. Assets can be tracked and located using RFID tags and labels, standard bar code labels or direct part marking identifiers. Using the administration module for DynaCap, users can define object types, along with any number of asset attributes associated with the corresponding asset.
Inspection Module
The DynaCap Inspection Module can be configured by IT users to accommodate any object type and associated attributes for inspecting assets. Pick lists attributes can also be set up by users. When Asset identifiers (RFID tags, direct product marks using 2D Data matrix code) are integrated into the asset, the user can use the DynaCap mobile handheld Inspection Module to scan the tag or mark and then complete an inspection form for data to be collected or validated during the tag association process to the asset.
Inventory Management
DynaCap uses MS SQL as its primary database for managing all inventory items. As data objects and associated attributes are transferred to mobile handhelds, data replication is used to transfer the required data for business processes by users. The respective asset tag is associated with the corresponding asset attributes that are either entered into the DynaCap database directly or via a file transfer from the host ERP system.
DynaCap Administration Module:
The DynaCap Administration module is used by the IT administrator to assign all user roles and user ID's for operational use.
Asset Tracking Module:
Users are able to track and transfer assets at any time once they are properly assigned an RFID tag or bar code label. Tagged assets are scanned using a mobile reader. The system validates the tag and presents the base-line information to the user. Menu options allow the user to drill down and access additional information on the asset if necessary. In addition, users can transfer assets using the "Transfer to Destination" menu option.
Report Module:
The DynaCap Report Module is configurable by the assigned IT Administrator. The Administrator has the flexibility of defining any type of report format based on data attributes defined within the DynaCap data base.
